You probably read many of those "About Us" pages that feel super boring and fake? They go on and on with fancy words ,It's like they just asked ChatGPT, "Hey, make us sound amazing," and out pops stuff like:
"We're the best party hire place in Melbourne, blah blah" or
"Your one-stop shop – don't look anywhere else."
That's just lazy or just misleading . We're not doing that. I'll tell you straight up about us – how we started, why we're worth checking out, or maybe why we're not a good fit for you. (We're not pretending to be perfect or the best – we're just us.) , so read on:
Maggie C Collective is a family business renting out event decor, and it's all from real life stuff. Back in 2019, I (Maggie Chen, the founder) was planning my son's wedding. I looked everywhere in Melbourne for nice, affordable decor to rent, but it was a nightmare. Hours online, asking for prices – suppliers wouldn't reply or they'd charge a fortune. And if I said "wedding," bam, the price just jumped up. It was so wrong, like they were taking advantage of this once in a lift time event.
I got fed up and started digging into why everything was so pricey. The answers just didn't make sense. So, I wondered, how could I achieve the same look without spending a fortune? I headed to Bunnings, grabbed some boards, wood, and paint, and built my own arches and backdrops. After a few tries, it turned out great and everyone at the wedding absolutely loved it.
Then COVID hit in early 2020. Still, the overcharging in the industry and that nightmare wedding experience stayed with me for nearly three years. Once things started returning to normal, I finally got serious about turning the idea and my handmade stuff into a real business.
I wanted to make the whole process simple — no endless back-and-forth messages, no waiting days for quotes (or worse- ghosting), and no feeling being ripped off. Most importantly, I wanted our props to be genuinely affordable for customers. One of our core principles is straightforward: renting should never cost more than buying . If it does, then why not just do that instead? That’s why we keep our prices fair — so anyone can throw a fun party, whether it’s big or small.
Over the last 4 years, we have slowly built up our stock, expanding our storage from a single garage to a double garage, then to one warehouse, and now to two warehouses. Employing multiple staff. Every year, we turn countless events into unforgettable memories, all priced clearly on the site, with easy pickup or delivery in Melbourne. Just pick what you need and go!

If you are after complicated design, custom made, balloons, we are unable to do so as we only provide what we have , we may try to get to that stage one day, but for now, we keep it as it’s
